Though not quite as familiar as the story of their children, the tale of the infamous Marauders is a well-known one. However, what would happen if the tale were to change? Suddenly James may find that Lily is more trouble than she's worth, and they both fall in love with other people. Or Sirius decides that perhaps it would be best to return home after all, and he and his family reconcile and put their differences behind them. This time around, the tale is Rewritten.

Claudie Stoker • Grant Gustin • TAKEN

“And when the daylight comes I’ll have to go, but tonight I’m gonna hold you so close .”

↳ Background

When Claudie was twelve years old, his father was killed by Death Eaters. His mother is what they consider a blood traitor and she let her husband provoke the man, and, no matter how much her friends and family try to convince her otherwise, to this day she still believes she was responsible for her husband’s death. The day of the funeral on, Claudie’s mother would lock herself in her room for days on end, leaving it up to her oldest son to take care of himself and his two younger siblings. So Claudie took over as both parents from that day on, learning how to cook and clean when he wasn’t at school, and helping Anna and Emmett with their studies when they entered Hogwarts.

Just like anything else in his life, Claudie goes through phases of interests verging on obsessions in his studies. Fifth year it was everything Muggle - Muggle Studies, Muggle Art, Muggle Music. Last year it was the choir and orchestra. This year it’s Xylomancy, Magical Theory, and Alchemy. While he isn’t necessarily gifted in any one subject, if he’s focused on one class in particular he’ll excel in it while the phase lasts.

Claudie is a restless soul, one who constantly roams through relationships and experiences. He’s never been one to simply let the world pass him by - he has to get up close and personal with as much as he can or he won’t be satisfied. Unfortunately, this can make him nosy, indecisive, and impulsive. He’s terrified of being tied down in any way or form, though this isn’t why he’s seen as rude or a flirt. He always wears his emotions on his sleeve and is rather blunt, but his naturally superficial nature leads to Claudie making snap judgements and regarding people in the way they treat him.

Anna Stoker • Elizabeth Olsen • OPEN

“On the first page of our story the future seemed so bright, then this thing turned out so evil.”

↳ Background

When Anna was almost eleven years old, her father was killed by Death Eaters. Her mother is what they consider a blood traitor and she let her husband provoke the man, and, no matter how much her friends and family try to convince her otherwise, to this day she still believes she was responsible for her husband’s death. The day of the funeral on, Anna’s mother would lock herself in her room for days on end, leaving it up to her oldest son to take care of himself and his two younger siblings. Anna refused to become dependent on Claudie, unlike Emmett, and took it upon herself to make sure that she was not only the best in her class, but also that she could take care of herself in general.

Everything Anna puts her mind to she excels at beyond belief. The teachers either love her or loathe her - some consider her uncanny intelligence to be pleasant and refreshing, while others regard her as an insufferable know-it-all. She doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her - teacher or students, it doesn’t matter much to her. She knows that her mother can’t even remember her name half the time, too caught up in Claudie’s perfect son act. So Anna buries herself in schoolwork and extra-curricular activities to fill her spare time.

Anna has a tendency to be annoying and overbearing, and, more often than not, she means to be. She doesn’t need friends, nor does she want them. She’s determined to be a wholly independent individual, and friends would only weigh her down in her eyes. So she pushes people away in the only way she knows how - her intelligence. She can normally be found with her nose buried in a book or peering over a classmate’s shoulder as they write an essay, finding at least three errors in one sentence alone.

Arthur Weasley • Caleb Landry Jones • OPEN

“I wanna know, can you show me? I wanna know about these strangers like me. Tell me more, please show me.”

↳ Background

The Weasleys are a very well known family in the wizarding community for more than one reason. One of those reasons being their mother is considered a “blood traitor” as she married a half blood,  something that the Black family would never allow. The other reason being their pureblood status. They accept others, but as they were raised a certain way, they have a preference for the pureblooded. Arthur’s family is his life. They’re more important than anything; he’d drop anything for them in an instant. You can always tell a Weasley by their look. The bright red hair and the scattered freckles on their pale faces. With that comes a sense of pride that Arthur is more than happy to experience.

Though he is a pureblood, Arthur has always had a fascination with the Muggle world. Whether it be how airplanes stay in the air or how they greet each other, Arthur wants to learn everything he can about them. So, of course, his favorite class is Muggle studies. He goes above and beyond what he has to do for most of his teachers. He focuses most of his time on his studies while his brother, Bill, focuses on parties and though the two are very different, they look after each other. They would do anything to keep the other safe and comfortable.

Arthur may not be very outgoing, but he is pretty well liked at Hogwarts. He has no reason to not be liked. He stays out of people’s way and does his own thing. He can be quite quiet, but he loves to talk to others about interesting subjects, mostly muggles. He is a bit insecure, though, as he feels as if he is somewhat in the shadow of his brother who is loved by most of the student body. He tries to keep that feeling under wraps as he knows it’s a bit silly, but he can’t help but be a bit jealous when his brother is with his friends while he’s stuck in the common room working on his homework.

Stubby Boardman • Shiloh Fernandez • OPEN

“Don’t hold your breath, I’m not losing sleep over you. I’m Mr. Reckless with a capital ‘R’.”

↳ Background

Though coming from a Pureblooded background, the Boardman family had no prejudice. Actually, they were rather considered outcasts among the Pureblood society since they rarely participated in the social gatherings required of the well-known Pureblood families. In fact, they weren’t even that well off. Stubby’s father had a less than respectable job in a store for magical music instruments and the like, which is probably where Stubby’s interest in musical arts started. Growing up surrounded by not only Wizarding but muggle music too, gave him quite the appreciation and the ear, for composition. It helped that he had perfect pitch.

Stubby, despite his less than popular status among the Pureblood society, is quite popular at Hogwarts. Maybe it’s the wild look in his eyes or the arrogant smirk on his face that draw the crowds. Or it could be the wild parties he’s always hosting, regardless of school rules. Most likely, however, it’s his ability to turn anything into a song or make anything in his hands an instrument. This boy is musically gifted and he knows it. He’s already planning on starting a band – he just needs a few more members who can handle his vanity. So dedicated to his music and living the life, his grades are rather poor. But he isn’t lacking – he just doesn’t care.

Stubby knows what he wants and he knows how to get it. And if he isn’t in the mood to go after it, he has ways of finding other people to do it for him. But underneath his arrogance and high self-esteem is an open-minded individual. He has no pureblood bias and he does not care who he talks to or where they come from. And though he may come across as uncaring or dull, he’s rather thoughtful and is always coming up with brilliant ways to skirt school rules or create new songs. And if he’s a bit loud, well then so be it.

Charity Burbage • Blake Lively • TAKEN (OC)

“It has never paid to be mean. In my opinion the best way to be happy is to choose it. To put a smile on someone else’s face and to make the day of another person just by being kind or saying hello or shooting them a smile. There is nothing more beautiful than the sound of happiness.”

↳ Background

Charity was raised in a family with blood as pure as some of the most ‘royal’ pureblood families, besides the rumored incest of course. But unlike the other pureblood families hers liked the regular snobbery that was usually held to others that were lesser of magical blood. As an only child she immediately warranted all of her parents affections, and she was never a neglected child, not even close. In fact, if you asked her about her fondest memories they would most likely include her many family vacations to the french riviera, or the hamptons, or a hike in the brazilian rainforest. Even though her parents were richer than a lot of the upper class, she was raised with so much love it would be strange if Charity hadn’t ended up the way she did, with a heart of pure gold.

Charity is exactly what her name implies; Charitable. Many people claim to be kind and be for the good of others but Charity is that way and she has always been incredibly humble about the fact that she is. She doesn’t claim to be a saint nor does she claim to be better than anybody else. Even with her pure blood she doesn’t escape some of the taunts, like ‘blood traitor’ or ‘mudblood lover’. Charity doesnt crumble under the cruel words, nor does she offer anything but indifference. She simply doesnt understand why trying to make her feel bad would make someone else feel good. Just because she is pureblood doesnt mean she has to be cruel, in fact the muggle culture fascinates her. Her parents raised her to be accepting to new ideas, and what is more new of an idea than the world that doesn’t involve wizardry. Truth be told Charity wouldn’t care that much if she was kicked out of the wizarding world for the world that isn’t her own enchants her.

By most standards Charity is selfless, but no one can be as perfect as she appears to be. In fact, over the summer Charity went to the doctor, they weren’t looking for anything in particular because she is only sixteen but through a fluke Charity found out she will never become a mother. There is something wrong with her eggs where she will never be fertile enough to produce children, no one but herself and her mother know of the tragic fate that awaits her and its a crushing truth, because no one as kind as her deserves to never have the chance of true motherhood. To have a child who shares her quirks and has her blue eyes. Its a secret she couldn’t bear to share with anyone else,  and now she cant imagine anyone falling in love with her.

Elijah Higgs • Brenton Thwaites • OPEN

Oh, Elijah. Don’t make me wait. Nobody’s winning. The sharks are swimming in the red.

↳ Background

Elijah’s mother was a Gryffindor. He doesn’t know his father. It became apparent throughout his childhood that he and his brother don’t share the same father, though most people can’t tell - they both physically take after their mother a great deal. Elijah spent most of his childhood waiting for his dad; he never came. His mom, who always seemed to be locked away in the bedroom with a boyfriend, wasn’t much of a witch. She didn’t have a magical household and she never talked about his father. Elijah had figured that this was because he was probably just one of her flings gone bad, at least, that’s what his brother always told him.

He was so excited as a first year to be sorted into… Slytherin? He was expecting to live up to his older brother Liam and succeed him but that didn’t work out. His mother was visibly disappointed. Liam became her pride and joy and Elijah was shoved to the side, almost disowned. But he was sort of happy about it. He was proud of being different- not just his brother’s shadow. Even now the two hardly speak to each other, not even gracing the other with a nod of the head should they pass in the corridors. Even within his house there are the few that like to taunt him – Regulus Black, for instance, holds the fact that he was glorified for his admittance into Slytherin over Elijah’s head, because Elijah was shunned for the same thing.

For these reasons, Elijah doesn’t like people that much. He’s withdrawn and isn’t very social, but there are a few that he talks to. Sometimes he bullies people into doing his work for him, may it be assigned from class or his dirty work. He doesn’t do much, not in class or anywhere else and is almost perpetually vacant. He almost always thinks of himself and how he can benefit from anything. An admirable trait, however, is his knowledge of when to stop. He may not care much about others or what’s going on about him, but he knows limits. Even if he ignores them sometimes.

Bilius Weasley • Adam Hicks • TAKEN

“I just want to live while I’m alive.”

↳ Background

While not a high society family nor holding many famed titles, the Weasleys are well known in the magical world for many reasons. Namely, their red hair and freckles. Another reason is their compassion for any blood status. Growing up in the Weasley household has taught Bilius respect for all who deserve it but also to enjoy life as it comes. Though Bilius and his younger brother, Arthur, are very different in their approach to enjoying life, family is important to the Weasleys, and Bilius would protect his family at all cost.

Bill is known as the life of the party. Arthur has his interest in muggles, Bill has his interest in ‘living life on the wild side’. After all, these are supposed to be the best years of his life. He wants to remember his time at Hogwarts, for what it’s worth. He has many friends, easily having charmed them to his side, and girls are captivated by his simple smile and carefree attitude. That’s not to say he is just play and no work – he’s got the brains too. He wouldn’t tell anyone, however, but he has to work a bit harder to keep up the slightly above average marks he’s managed to attain. Between parties, jokingly competing with Sirius and Fabian, and keeping an eye on Arthur, studies aren’t always his priority.

Sweet and charming, and definitely handsome, Bill could certainly sweep any girl off her feet. But he is far from shallow. All he wants to do is have a good time, joke around, have a laugh. He should not be taken lightly though. He was placed in Gryffindor for a reason, and not just because he’s a Weasley. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and will protect them no matter what. And even though he may struggle in a class or two, he’s quick with a wand and when all else fails, a fist works just as well.

Congratulations to all of our new students! We’re thrilled to have you here. But now that I’ve got you here at Hogwarts, I’d like to go over a couple of rules. Please go through the following new student checklist.

If you weren’t accepted, chances are it’s not because you suck and we hate you. In fact, I know that’s not the case. So here are your three options if you didn’t get accepted for either of your choices.

Let’s get this school year off to a great start, yeah? Classes start tomorrow.

Cole Wayland • Logan Lerman • TAKEN

"He told me I should take it in, listen to every word he’s speaking. The wires getting older, I can hear the way their creaking as they’re holding him - I could see it in his jaw that all he ever wanted was a job. He tells me to be raw, admits to me every little flaw."

↳ Background

At a very young age, Cole’s father was killed in a robbery gone wrong. Cole was devastated and became moody and withdrawn, refusing to come out of his room for days on end. His mother, however, remarried within the year and never told her son or her new husband of Cole’s or his father’s powers. Cole couldn’t stand his stepfather, who would beat Cole and his mother on almost a nightly basis. When his Hogwarts letter arrived, his stepfather flat out refused to let him go away to school, screaming at the boy, calling him a freak. Later that night, his mother gave him one hundred dollars, praying it would be enough, and helped her son pack his bags to leave for school. Over the years, she silently arranged for Cole to stay at school over shorter holiday breaks and at a friend’s house over summer vacation. She told her husband that Cole ran away, and that she hasn’t heard from him since.

He constantly slacks off on his schoolwork, though the teachers mostly pity him instead of dislike him. It’s not that he doesn’t enjoy school - he just doesn’t care to spend time on it out of class. He has more important things to do. Nevertheless, Cole especially enjoys Divination, Care of Magical Creatures, and Astronomy. He’s also elected to take Alchemy. However, he has an absolute distain for Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Cole is extremely philosophical and contemplative. He is particularly drawn to difficult questions or questions that cannot be answered with any certainty. But even though he is thoughtful to the point of obsession, Cole also behaves extremely rashly and impulsively. When he does act, it is with surprising swiftness and little or no premeditation. He is often melancholy, pessimistic, and sarcastic.

Hestia Jones • Antonia Thomas • OPEN

“This is my time to shine. This is my place to find, all that I had inside I never knew.”

↳ Background

Hestia’s childhood, for all intents and purposes, was relatively normal. Though her father was a wizard and her mother a muggle, there was never any tension within her home. Her father held a lower, but respectable, position in the Ministry and her mother worked as a muggle school teacher, so they were always home to spend time with her. Life was very calm and understanding in the Jones’ household, and her parents strived to make sure that no matter what choices Hestia made nor what house she was sorted into, she would be loved. This ideal was, thankfully, one that passed onto Hestia.

Hestia, though she’ll never say this out loud, was rather surprised to be sorted into Gryffindor. She thought that surely she would end up in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff – she didn’t think she embodied the characteristics of the ideal Gryffindor. She didn’t find herself to be brave or daring, and she had never been particularly apt to rise up to challenges. But she didn’t waste her time worrying over it. Instead, she embraced her sorting and decided to make the best of her time at school. Loving her lessons, she manages her time better than most and is always known to have something to do. People from all houses come to her for tutoring, and she’s got friends from all years.

If there’s anything to be said about Hestia, it’s that she is ridiculously polite. Her manners are perfect, and while she likes to think others will act the same, she is bright enough to know that everyone is different. Organized and efficient, she dislikes mess and has been known to help other students in their organization skills. However, because of her talent in getting things done quickly, she grows bored rather fast, and though she is quite sweet and pleasant, she can be very skeptical of what people say. But she dearly loves to laugh, and it’s not often she’ll be seen without a smile.
